Minted Knives: This is a lost art that is used to create fine art pieces. First we develop our concept with art drawings. When this is finalized, a hand designed plaster casting is made by the artist. This sculpted pieces is then reduced to the actual working size. The end result of this process is a finished knife with deep relief, and incredible details you can see and feel. The knife starts out as blank piece of metal (bronze, pewter, copper, etc.) and then the striking process takes place with hardened steel dies that have the artwork engraved on them. We use billets of the steel to turn them into strips, which are then used to create the knife blanks. Blanks are then finished and prepared for the striking. The steel dies are then used for creating the finished knife by striking with incredible impact to allow the metal to "flow" into the recesses of the die, giving each finished knife incredible detail. Up to 1,500 tons of pressure is used during this process. Our knives are then carefully finished and polished. If color accents are used, these are hand painted with the highest quality enamels. We use the highest grade 440c surgical steel on our blades. The end result is an incredible custom artwork knife that will last a life time. Plain and simple. For yourself, a gift, and as a family heirloom. . If you want a true collectors item then buy this knife.
