  1. Beautiful, uniquely shaped, functionally excellent knife 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Aug 2018

The multi-colored hand etched bone handle is a work of art onto itself. The unique upward curving blade perfectly compliments the hollow bellied handle when open. The blade opens and closes effortlessly, even one handed. The liner lock mechanism holds the blade very securely when open, thereby making the knife safe and suitable for most cutting and piercing activities.

  2. functionally flawless and artistically unique 5 Star Review

I was immediately impressed with the knife when I took it out of the box. It struck me as this gorgeous little work of art, from the asymmetrically engraved beautiful colored bone handle scales to the mesmerizing Damascus pattern on the uniquely shaped very sharp blade. Because it is handmade and because I had at that point in time already purchased so many expensive hand made knives with unacceptable damage and/or defects in workmanship I went over every millimeter of this knife using a high powered magnifying glass and a bright light. To my amazement I found only a few insignificant defects - the kind that every handmade knife has. Otherwise, I was stunned by the craftsmanship that it must have taken to create this thing.

The handle scales are made of richly colored engraved bone. The engraving is clearly unique to this one knife and definitely not created by any machine. Specifically, the engraved designs are in places a little off-center and asymmetrical. In other words, exactly what you would expect and want from a truly hand crafted chunk of bone. Each side of the handle has two attractive buffalo horn spacers running from top to bottom. The ten brass pins that attach the scales to the handle frame are all flush with the bony surface. There is a very nice round inlay near the butt of the handle. The decorative brass file work on the spine of the handle looks awesome. The Damascus steel bolster is attached to the frame using three recessed screws, one of which goes all the way through the knife and serves as the blade's pivot mechanism.

Functionally the knife works perfectly. Assisted opening via a right handed brass thumb knob is smooth and easy, and allows simple one handed opening. Once fully opened, the blade locks securely in place using a liner lock mechanism inside the handle. In the open position, the blade is very stable, without play of any kind. The liner lock is easy to push aside with the thumb in order to unlock the blade and return it easily into the handle, even using a one handed technique. The Damascus steel blade is straight and covered with a nice watery Damascus pattern. I found no defects, scratches or rust. The blade edge is symmetrical, very sharp and without nicks or burrs.

The sheath is made of good quality full grain leather. The knife is easily inserted and removed from the sheath with just a bit of snugness. The sheath closes via a leather flap over the top and locks closed with a good quality snap. It slides onto a belt via a simple leather strap riveted to the back of the sheath with what seem like strong durable rivets.

Overall, this is a functionally flawless and artistically unique knife that I'm proud to have in my collection.

  4. "Stunned By The Workmanship " 5 Star Review

I received your knife and was immediately impressed. Because I have purchase many relatively expensive knives that have had unacceptable damage and/or defects in workmanship I went over every mm of your knife using a magnifying glass. To my amazement I found only a few insignificant (in my eyes) defects that every handmade knife is going to have. Otherwise, I was stunned by the workmanship and the knife's overall beauty. Functionally it works perfectly and has a nice leather sheath.
I hope this answers your questions. I would be happy to leave you the positive feedback that you asked for but I found no link in the message you sent me.
    Sincerely,

  5. Beautiful Handmade Knife 5 Star Review

Posted by on 18th Feb 2017

I bought this knife for my husband who is somewhat of a novice knife collector, he likes all types but he uses them so it really doesn't matter if they are expensive or inexpensive to him. He is in LOVE with this knife, this is hands down the nicest knife he owns, at what I think is a very good price.

The shipping was unbelievably fast I live in WA and ordered it around 8pm on a Wednesday and received it Friday afternoon!

The knife is fun to look at because there is so much detail, it's a pretty heavy knife I thought It has some heft to it. I will purchase another knife and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice knife at a great price. My husband couldn't be happier and has already been checking out others on the website!

  6. Very Unique Damascus Knife 5 Star Review

This is a quality piece...clearly hand and custom made. Like a few others on this site, I have begun to collect the DKC Knives. Very nice collection and a great value for the money . This knife is a very solid knife with an excellent Damascus blade.

Good luck in your knife search...so many to select from. By the way, I have the Beaver, Survival 1, and Black Thumb. So far, very happy with all of them.
